A well maintained dirt road that runs from Delta to Nucla across the Uncompahgre Plateau. This road has several names: 25 Mesa Rd, Delta-Nucla Rd and, once it enters the Uncompahgre National Forest, FSR 503. The section shown here is the Delta to Divide Road portion. Nice views of canyons on this long ascent up the plateau. Some washboarding, but suitable for passenger cars and gravel bikes.

This may be the longest climb on the Western Slope. If you continue south on Divide Rd., it's 40 miles of climbing. If you're into that sort of thing!
